About Upstack AI
Upstack AI is a UAE company that builds AI-native tools for the education and hiring industries. It operates two products on a shared in-house AI layer of document parsing, assessment engines, and conversational AI: LearnLab for education and WorkLab for hiring. The company is Upstack AI FZ-LLC, headquartered in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, and serves customers globally.
WorkLab is the hiring product and LearnLab is the education product. WorkLab parses CVs, ranks candidates, and runs interviews to turn a large applicant pool into a shortlist. LearnLab builds courses, grades student work automatically, and runs AI tutors. They share the same underlying AI layer but are sold, priced, and deployed separately — you do not need one to use the other.
Upstack AI is headquartered in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, and operates as Upstack AI FZ-LLC. The products are used globally, with customers across the Middle East, Europe, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Portugal. Data can be hosted in the EU — see the security page for hosting detail.
WorkLab — AI for hiring
WorkLab turns a large volume of job applications into a ranked shortlist of the most relevant candidates. It parses CVs into structured data, scores each candidate against the requirements of the job description, and runs screening interviews — so a recruiter reviews a ranked shortlist instead of reading thousands of CVs in order of arrival.
WorkLab scores each candidate against the specific job description rather than against a generic template. It extracts requirements from the job description, evaluates each application and interview response against them, and produces a composite score with the reasoning attached. Recruiters can see why a candidate ranked where they did, and the ranking is a decision aid — a human makes the hiring decision.
Yes. WorkLab runs structured screening interviews with candidates, conducted by AI and scored against the role, and supports scheduling live interviews with human interviewers through connected calendars. Interview responses feed the same candidate score as the CV and assessment stages, so one ranking reflects the whole process.
WorkLab connects to calendar providers for interview scheduling, to LinkedIn for sourcing, and to HR systems including BambooHR. Integrations are configured per workspace in settings — see the WorkLab documentation at upstack.ai/docs/worklab for the current list and setup steps.
Yes. WorkLab supports partner-domain rebranding, so a recruitment agency can run the platform on its own domain with its own branding for its clients. Contact Upstack AI to set this up.
LearnLab — AI for education
LearnLab is Upstack AI's education platform. It combines an AI course builder, an automatic grading engine (including STEM and quantitative problems), conversational AI tutors, and per-student analytics — turning coursework into a measurable learning loop. It is used by universities, schools, and training providers worldwide.
Educators upload their materials and marking rubric. LearnLab's assessment engine marks submissions against that rubric — including structured and STEM problems — returns written feedback, and feeds every result into per-student analytics. A human-in-the-loop review step keeps educators in control of final grades.
LearnLab handles STEM and quantitative subjects such as mathematics and the sciences, alongside written and structured assessments. It supports auto-graded problem sets, multiple choice, short-answer questions, and rubric-based marking of longer open-ended responses, with LaTeX and scientific notation rendering.
Yes. LearnLab runs a three-year departmental deployment at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, marking university physics across cohorts of several hundred students. Alongside that, lecturers and researchers at 50+ universities worldwide have signed up individually and brought their own course material. It scales to large cohorts while keeping analytics at the individual-student level.
LearnLab's conversational tutors guide students through material using Socratic questioning and targeted practice, available on demand. They are designed to support instructors rather than replace them, with guardrails that discourage over-reliance and keep students working toward understanding.
Pricing and plans
WorkLab and LearnLab are priced separately. WorkLab has a free tier plus paid monthly and annual plans, priced per workspace — see upstack.ai/pricing. LearnLab is priced per educator per year, with the per-student cost falling as a department scales — see upstack.ai/learnlab/pricing. Institutional and enterprise agreements are quoted directly.
WorkLab has a free tier you can sign up for without a card. For LearnLab, contact Upstack AI to arrange a pilot — education deployments are normally scoped around a department, a specific course, or a cohort rather than an individual signup.
Data, security and compliance
Upstack AI runs on Amazon Web Services and offers EU data hosting. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with role-based access controls limiting who can reach what. Full detail is on the security page at upstack.ai/security.
Upstack AI is built aligned by design with the principles of the EU AI Act — transparency, human oversight, and clear documentation. It is not certified and has not been independently assessed as compliant, and Upstack AI does not describe itself as "EU AI Act compliant". Responsible AI is treated as a design requirement, and the deployer of the system retains their own obligations under the regulation.
Yes, by design. LearnLab returns marks and feedback for an educator to review and approve; the educator sets the final grade. WorkLab produces a ranked shortlist with the reasoning attached; the recruiter decides who to advance. Neither product is built to make the final decision on its own.
No. Student coursework, grades, candidate applications, CVs, and interview transcripts are customer data and are not used to train models. Those areas of the platform are also excluded from search and AI crawlers — see upstack.ai/robots.txt and upstack.ai/ai.txt.
Getting started
For WorkLab, sign up at upstack.ai and start on the free tier, or book a demo through upstack.ai/contact. For LearnLab, contact Upstack AI to scope a pilot around a course or department. Product documentation for WorkLab is at upstack.ai/docs/worklab.
WorkLab is usable the same day: create a workspace, add a job description, and upload applications. LearnLab depends on how much material is being brought across — a single course can be running in days, while a departmental deployment is normally scoped over a term with the teaching team.
